In Northern Europe you find a small kingdom, well known for its strong welfare state, mixed market capitalist economy and for being one of the most egalitarian societies in the world. Also Denmark was named the happiest country in the world many years in a row by several international reports. Denmark is the smallest of the Scandinavian countries. The country is made up of the Jutland Peninsula and over 500 islands with an abundance of places to visit. The Kingdom of Denmark also includes the two self-governing territories of the Faroe Islands and Greenland. The latter is over 500 times larger than Denmark but has 100 times less people. Capital of the Kingdom of Denmark, Copenhagen has the heartbeat of a big city but at the same time everything is within easy reach. In Copenhagen you can go exploring in a world of fashion, design, culture and gastronomy. But at the same time the surroundings offer plenty of outdoor activities.
Denmark continues to stamp its effortlessly cool style on the world with its furniture, fashion, architecture and graphic design, as it has done for the last half-century. This obsession with good design, detail and fine craftsmanship is evident even in something as mundane as a Copenhagen metro or train ride. The white cliffs of Møn is one of the most famous and beautiful places in Denmark. It is the only place in the country where you can experience high chalk cliffs and the unique flora and fauna associated with them. Denmark has one official language: Danish. However, there are several minority languages spoken throughout the territory, if you include The Faeroe Islands and Greenland. Danes are taught English from a very young age and 86% of all Danes speak English as a second language.
Denmark has a temperate climate, with frost and occasional snow in the winter. The average temperature is around 16°C in the summer and 0.5°C in the winter. Precipitation is at its highest in September, October and November and lowest in February and April. Denmark has a reputation as an expensive place to eat. Though you can find many fine-dining restaurants in Denmark, you’ll find that cities like Copenhagen and Aarhus are some of Scandinavia’s best for restaurant choices. It’s easy to head out from your hotel and find good, cheap restaurants. Shopping in Denmark is quite a fun endeavour. Although there are not many shopping malls in Denmark, you can still buy quality stuff from the beautiful stores and showrooms of Scandinavian taste.
We have a unique way of meeting your adventurous expectations!
